WinterKnights's Bio

Who are you?

I am a friendly neighborhood hacker based out of Minnesota currently working as an Associate Adversary Simulation Consultant at SpecterOps. Additionally, I have 3 years of Vulnerability Management experience, About 2 years of network security engineering experience, some helpdesk experience from way back when, and a little OT security experience from an internship. I am deeply motivated by teaching and mentorship where I can create opportunities for good people that I did not have for myself.

In addition to my day job, I engage with the information security industry in a variety of ways:

    • 2 years as the Red Team Lead in Minnesota and Indiana
    • 1 year as a Red Team Member in Minnesota and Indiana
    • 2 years as a Competitor

  • BloodHoundGang Slack
  • I am active on a myriad of Community Discord servers
    • Unofficial CCDC

  • Speak to students in local high schools
    • Blaine High School
    • St. Cloud State University

Why should I listen to you?

Good question. If what is mentioned above doesn't satisfy you, here are my current credentials:

  • BS in Cybersecurity from a local state university
  • AS in Computer Networking from a local community college

As far as industry certification is concerned, I currently hold the following:

  • Red Team Lead from Zero Point Security (CRTL)
  • Red Team Ops from Zero Point Security (CRTO)
  • OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP)

Of course, there are also some certifications that have lapsed, and are now inactive:

  • AWS Security Specialty
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner
  • Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching
  • CompTIA A+
  • NOCTI Certification in Web Design

Why blog?

Well, this is pretty easy. I love the hacker community. I love having a place where I belong, and can contribute back to. This blog is an excellent outlet where I can share exciting things I've learned, and hopefully you can pick up some interesting tips and tricks.
